UIPM 2026 Pentathlon Junior World Championships: France hold off Lithuania for Mixed Relay gold
France found a golden finish on the closing day of the UIPM 2026 Pentathlon Junior World Championships as Coline Flavin and Ernest Brugot combined to deliver Mixed Relay glory in Kaunas (LTU).
They didn’t have it their own way however and had to hold of a ferocious fight from the host nation who tried to end an unforgettable week with the anthem of Lithuania being heard. The duo of Guste Peciulyte and Liutauras Valieka (LTU) chased down the French with zeal in a gripping Laser Run.
Starting in fourth place, a full 24 seconds behind France (Flavin/Brugot), Lithuania (Peciulyte/Valieka) seared through the field but couldn’t quite overhaul the victors.
Behind them, Ganah Elgingy and Mohamed Hassan held on to bring home bronze for Egypt, despite Hungary (Dorottya Varga & Domonkos Gyepessy) turning in the fastest Laser Run of all 15 competing nations.
Just a second behind in fifth were the team from Poland (Hanna Jakubowska & Franciszek Dubrawski) with Germany (Jennifer Block & Pius Uffinger) rounding out the top six.
